NC ABLE Launches January 26, 2017!

NC ABLE launched January 26 at www.NC.SaveWithABLE.com. These simple, affordable and tax-advantaged accounts allow eligible individuals with disabilities to save up to $14,000 a year without endangering eligibility for certain means-tested federal and state benefit programs, including Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Parents/guardians of children with disabilities can open accounts on behalf of those who qualify.

Medicaid Reform Update

On June 1st, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Secretary Brajer unveiled the state’s 1115 Waiver application, as known as “Medicaid Reform.” An 1115 Waiver, often called a demonstration waiver, a request to change how the Medicaid program is structured, delivered, and evaluated on a state-by-state basis.
