NC DHHS Letter

Posted by The Arc of North Carolina

We wanted to let you know about a letter that you should be receiving during late June or early July.

This letter will come from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and it will outline a new process for you to receive your Medicaid medical services. It’s important for the people and families that we serve to understand what this letter means and what you need to do.

If you receive Innovations waiver supports and services, nothing will change for now.

The state is setting up a new way for you to receive your medical services covered by Medicaid through private health insurance plans.

If you were eligible for Medicaid before these changes, you are still eligible now. If you make a copay when you get Medicaid medical services, your copay amount will stay the same.

We understand that this process might be unsettling or confusing and you may have questions.

We want you to know that we are here to help. If you have questions about the letter, you can call the North Carolina Medicaid managed care enrollment broker, Maximus, at 1-833-870-5500.

You can call our office at 1-800-662-8706 and we can direct you to a staff member in our office that can help answer your questions.

We want this transition to be as easy and seamless as possible for you. Please feel free to reach out to us with help that you may need regarding this letter or any of the supports and services that we provide.
