If I could say one thing to Congress or the President...

Today, The Arc is releasing a video featuring people who rely on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and/or Medicaid, and each one has a personal message for Members of Congress and the Trump Administration. The individuals with disabilities and family members featured implore their elected officials to understand the real world impact of repealing the ACA and decimating Medicaid, and each person puts a face on the rollbacks and cuts being debated in Congress.

As you know, Congress returns to Washington, DC this week poised to take up a health care bill that has gone from bad to worse for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families, since they pulled the American Health Care Act from a vote a few weeks ago — and its possible that a vote will happen soon.

Please share this video widely with your networks to show the impact of repealing the ACA and cutting Medicaid — including through your social media channels, your chapter members, staff, volunteers, advocates, state coalition partners, your Members of Congress, and state elected officials.

This is the first in a series of videos The Arc will be releasing in the coming weeks, sharing the personal stories of people with disabilities and their families, and the impact of the ACA and Medicaid on their lives.
